For those small businesses that have a short sale window for their products, a new App called TooGoodToGo is allowing customers to find local businesses that have discounted items that are otherwise to be food waste.  The consumer gets a good deal on the product, and the business reduces their downside and risk by not having to donate/pitch the goods, which would mean taking a full loss on inventory.  For up to a 20 mile radius, customers are able to see participating businesses and pick up before closing time with the app gaining traction in areas such as Portland Maine where they have test areas.
