Australian food-tech app, Saveful, has just launched in India at the “Plates with a Purpose” food and hospitality fair. In aiming to strengthen its trade partners and supply chain relationships, Australia presents this app to India to buttress its global mission to reduce food waste. Strengthening the supply chain between countries reduces waste by leaving less room for error and encouraging trade. Furthermore, the Saveful technology, already backed and funded by the Australian government, aims to educate and inspire households to be mindful of their waste and find innovative ways to use their leftover food. By providing ideas for consumers, they actually save money because they can plan out which meals they want from the grocery store and how much of each ingredient they will need. Australia and India partnering in hopes to resolve the food waste crisis through this app shows how innovation and technology can progress food waste solutions.
