Rouge Produce and Every Ridge Farm are providing an alternative to sending food to the landfill. Every Ridge Farm takes food scraps from Rouge and composts it on-site. After Every Ridge composts it, they use the compost as a natural fertilizer for their crops. This natural fertilizer also reduces the greenhouse gas emissions from the farm, and the groups hope this strategy will be deployed by others to reduce the impact of food waste.
