Denali, the nation’s leading recycler of organics, announced on January 27, 2025, the launch of a new product, “ReCirculate.” This innovative product is made from food that grocery stores might discard. Denali has partnered with several retailers, including their largest partner, Walmart, to turn unsold food into compost. ReCirculate is now available in over 100 Walmart locations and will be sold to more than 600 locations by April which is just in time for the spring season. Denali repurposes organic waste into compost, soil, fertilizer, and renewable energy, aiming to keep unsold and unwanted food out of landfills. Walmart’s VP of Facility Services said, “We’re taking unsalable merchandise and repurposing it into a different product we can sell on our shelves—benefitting our business, our customers, and the planet.”
