Cornwall is completing the final phase of its new household waste collection system, which began last year. Starting Monday, the system will be rolled out in Mid West Cornwall, covering approximately 89,000 households. The new system includes weekly food waste collections and alternating weeks for “black bag” rubbish bins and recycling bins and recycling sacks/boxes.
The council reports a significant increase in recycling rates, from 34% to 44%, with expectations to reach 50-51% once the rollout is complete. Residents can find their new collection day in the Go Collection Calendar being sent to all households.
