As small businesses and grocery stores continue to throw out huge amounts of food at the end of the week, some have elected to partner with apps like Flashfood and Too Good to Go to reduce their footprint. These apps, and others like them, are a new type of app that helps connect consumers with food that would have been wasted, at a reduced price. “Flashfood now works with more than 1,400 supermarkets in the United States and Canada” says the New York times, while many bigger chain supermarkets aren’t involved with these apps yet, the number is growing fast.
