Food retailers such as Walmart, Aldi, Aramark, Whole Foods, and mire have all agreed to the U.S. Food Waste Pact to help reduce food waste. The pact provides many helpful things such as detailed customers waste analytics and solution road maps to test out. The executive director of ReFED, Dana Gunders, explained that the Pact is a big step forward for these large companies in terms of alleviating and working towards solving the issue of wasted food. I believe that this Pact will be able to showcase the problem at large in a more business-oriented way and create more of a drive in the efforts to decrease food waste.
