Three regional groups, in New York, are collaborating to provide free workshops for various stakeholders interested in reducing food waste going to landfills. These workshops, hosted by Compost for Good and supported by the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA), AdkAction, the Clinton County Health Department, and the Center for EcoTechnology, aim to educate businesses, community members, institutions, municipalities, and compost professionals. The workshops, which run for one hour, will cover methods to reduce food waste at its source, including composting, recycling, and food donation. Attendees will also have networking opportunities and access to information from waste management representatives. These initiatives seek to empower individuals to contribute to a more sustainable future in the North Country by addressing food waste, which can save money, support local businesses, and address larger challenges like climate change and food insecurity.
