Alice Watkins, a former scenic artist at Bristol Old Vic, turned to pottery as therapy after developing long Covid in 2021. She now supplies top restaurants with tableware made from kitchen waste and wild clay.
Watkins’ brand, Wild and Wasted, uses materials like deer bones, oyster shells, and charcoal to create sustainable ceramics. Her work aligns with the ethics of restaurants like Wilsons, which values sustainability.
Watkins aims to inspire other creatives to adopt eco-friendly practices and plans to build a network in the South West for processing waste materials. Despite her illness, she has found a fulfilling new career and continues to recover.
