With the large youth population in Myanmar, it has been a struggle for the younger generation to find work. In light of this, the AFDA together with FHI 360 have strived to find agriculture jobs for 30,000 young people. This movement has helped inspire “agri-preneurship” mindsets, fueling new waste maintenance solutions and sustainable practices. A new compost solution has been started by Su Wai Aung from the AFDA supported program. She has created an organic fertilizer, opposed to the commonly used chemical fertilizer, consisting of vegetable waste. Aung has successfully reduced food waste while creating an environmentally-friendly solution for Myanmar.
