Kroger has brought their partnership with Flashflood to their Mid-Atlantic stores and is currently in over 100 stores. Flashflood focuses on having items reach their best by dates that are usually sold more fresh, and is hoping to expand the departments they work with. There were QR codes to their app in the stores and campaigns with influencers, with this expansion in hopes of reaching bigger audiences. Kroger is also helping with creating educational classes on nutrition to help spread this impact. This is important as it shows firsthand how these supermarkets are trying to bring awareness to food waste by making sure food does not get thrown out before its made-up expiration date, showing customers that the food is still good to eat and buy, and that they shouldn’t waste it.
