An easy and effective way people anywhere can turn food waste into compost is with worms. The worms eat the food waste and turn it into nutrients that plants have an easier time absorbing. Plants grown using these worm castings created from eating food waste have been found to be healthier in a variety of ways while producing larger yields. Food waste bins can be placed in a home when stored properly and are most effective when using the red wiggler worm as they thrive in that kind of environment. Composting even helps combat climate change as organic matter is able to decompose back into the soil rather than releasing carbon straight to the atmosphere. While some people may not be into composting for themselves as they have no desire to garden, for those that do this can be a great compost easily and effectively in their own home. I think this would be a great way to get people interested in composting that have yet to try.
