Continuing UB’s zero waste effort, a cafe on campus has recently implemented new waste bins that have been a great success. R/O/T bins, Recycle, Organics, Trash, have been placed in the cafe and are planned to be distributed campus wide in the near future. The R/O/T system allows students to properly sort their waste in color coded bins, helping to reduce unnecessary waste and educate more on proper disposal practices. These bins have been a hit and will greatly contribute to UB’s zero waste effort goal of achieving 90% waste-diversion rate by 2030.
