A recent investment into Do Good Foods may soon result in seeing their brand name on retailers’ shelves. Do Good Foods is a meat producer that collects food waste to transform it into feed for the livestock they raise and produce. They will be constructing a new food waste processing facility in Pennsylvania with plans to process up to 160 tons of surplus food per day.

After processing, Do Good Foods uses the feed for their chickens which in turn are sold by retailers. These meats are forecasted to be sold at much lower prices than typical organic meats. And even in the chickens get in on the good deed; for every chicken produced there are 4 pounds of surplus food diverted from waste lands. With the ability to feed 25 million chickens per year, that’s 100 million pounds of waste being diverted.
